Abram Fjodorowitsch Ioffe/Joffe (*29.10.1880 Romny/Ukraine; +14.10.1960 Leningrad) war ein russischer Physiker und Professor an der Universität Leningrad. Er studierte von 1902 bis 1905 bei Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in München und wurde dann sein Assistent. Im Sommer 1906 kehrte er überraschend nach Russland zurück und kam danach regelmäßig in den Semesterferien nach München und seine Arbeiten mit Röntgen zu besprechen. Bei einem dieser Aufenthalte entstand das Portrait. Einzelportrait (Bruststück) im Viertelprofil.
