Paul Louis Mercanton (*11.05.1876 Lausanne; +25.02.1963 Lausanne) war ein Schweizer Physiker, Meteorologe und Polarforscher. Er studierte im Wintersemester 1905/1906 bei Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in München. Im März 1906 schenkte er Röntgen das Portrait mit der persönlichen Widmung "A Mon Maitre vénéré Mr le Prof Dr. Roentgen Souvenir reconnaissant du Semestre d'hiver 1905-06 Paul L.
