Das Besondere von diesem Walkman ist der quartzstabilisierte Antrieb. Man kann das Gerät jetzt drehen und wenden ohne dass die Audioqualität nachlässt. Das eingebaute Dolby-B Rauschminderungssystem und ein Bandsortenschalter zum Ausgleich unterschiedlicher Bandmaterialien verbessern den Klang im Vergleich zu Vorgängerversionen deutlich. Eine automatische Endabschaltung hilft beim Energiesparen und LED zeigt den aktuellen Batteriezustand an. Versorgt wird der Walkman von zwei AA-Batterien oder über ein externes 3V Netzteil.
